Parish Ministries & Organizations

Family Life Activities and Ministry:

Our parish offers a variety of family life ministries and activities throughout the year. Visit the Family Life page of our website for more information about the resources and activities available. For more information or to share your ideas, contact Lindy Meyer at 243.4359 or Email: olphfamilylife@gmail.com.

St. Anne's Society:

St. Anne's Society began as a Solidality when the church here was in its infancy after the first resident priest came. In the beginning St. Anne's Solidality was for married women only. In later years the name was changed to St. Anne's Society and all women of the church can belong and work together on any parish projects they wish to. St. Anne's Society celebrated its centennial year in 1980. The Mass is offered for the living and deceased members and they have the nine days Novena every July 18-26, ending with St. Anne's Feast Day. After the Novena is over and dues have been collected, a gift is given back to the parish to be used for a worthy cause. For more information contact the parish office.

Bereavement Ministry:

This is a lay pastoral care program bringing emotional and spiritual support to the bereaved. Bereavement ministers visit members of the parish who have lost a loved one or close relative, offering support on behalf of the parish. Outreach efforts include visits, sympathy cards and a memorial brochure with the readings and hymns of the funeral Mass. Bereavement ministers often attend the funerals and lead a special Stations of the Cross for the grieving during the season of Lent. For more information or to be a part of this ministry, contact Carol Arts at 243.7754.

Evangelization:

Evangelization efforts in the parish are ongoing. If you are interested in helping in this area to bring more people to active membership in the Church and consequently a closer relationship with the Lord Jesus, please contact the parish office.

Food Bank:

Non-perishable canned and boxed goods can be donated to the local Food Bank. Items can be placed in the box provided at the back of Church or monetary donations can be given by placing your donation in an envelope marked "Food Bank" and putting it in the collection. Periodically the parish works at the Food Bank and solicits volunteers for this community outreach. Watch the bulletin for times or contact the parish office.

Eucharistic Minister:

This ministry provides the privilege of distributing the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ to those attending Mass, shut-ins and parishioners in the hospital and nursing homes. Periodic traning sessions for new Eucharistic Minsiters are offered as announced in the parish. If you would like to serve in the ministry or no of someone who needs this ministry contact the parish office.

Lector:

A rewarding opportunity to help proclaim the Word of God. All qualified women and men are invited to this position with the assistance of instructional sessions. If you would like to learn more about this ministry, contact the parish office.

Cantor/Musician/Choir:

A singing parish is a praying parish. There is a need for song leaders (cantors) to encourage the congregation to sing. A variety of cantors, musicians and choirs are already in place but new members are always welcome and appreciated. Contact the parish liturgy coordinator, Glenda Schreiber at 243.1099 or Email: lifenmusic@gmail.com to join an existing choir or become a cantor or musician. Visit the Liturgy & Music page of this website for more information about the existing opportunities to share your musical talents.

Ushers/Greeters:

Men and women of the parish are encouraged to participate in this special role for Sunday and Holy Day Masses. Contact the parish office to be placed on the schedule.

Gift Bearers:

This is a wonderful way to participate in the Mass by having the family bring the gifts to the altar at the Offertory. Any individuals or families interested in this ministry can contact the parish office to be placed on the schedule.

Acolytes:

Boys or girls who have completed the third grade can serve Mass after receiving training. Contact the parish office for the next scheduled training date.

Scripture Study:

Different individuals have organized scripture study groups. New people are always welcome to join or form new groups. Contact the parish office for more information and resources.

Adult Religious Education:

A variety of educational and spiritual opportunities are offered throughout the year for parishioners and community members. Check the parish bulletin and calendar event times and locations. If you know of a Catholic speaker you feel would be beneificial to the parish, contact the parish office for consideration.
